Monday night update: Today got up to the mid-80s around the Plateau, but that was just the appetizer for tomorrow…as a reminder, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from 10am tomorrow (Tuesday) thru 11pm Wednesday. Afternoon high temps could be as high as the mid- to upper-90s both days, and overnight low temps (just before sunrise) will only drop to the low- to mid-60s.

Now…I say “as high as”, because there are some additional factors at play. If it was a picturesque, cloud-free day, it’d get downright hot. But, like today, there’s the potential for some high clouds and smoke - and depending on how much of either/both there is, it could knock those temps by a few degrees. But even low-90s is plenty hot!!

Looking at air quality readings, they’re still in the “acceptable” range - I couldn’t smell it, but I could see the haze especially closer to sunset (which, BTW, is before 9pm again 😭). Might see some improvement by tomorrow night.

Stay cool and hydrated - keep your pets indoors, and please don’t take them for walks in the afternoon…if you can’t hold the back of your hand to the pavement for more than 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws!

Back tomorrow with more updates!
