Thank you for using Plateau Weather! We provide this service to help you stay informed about local weather conditions. Because we want to keep things clear and fair, we've put together these Terms of Service ("Terms").

When we say "Company", "we", "our", or "us" in this document, we are referring to Plateau Weather. When we say "Services", we mean the Plateau Weather website at plateauweather.com and the Plateau Weather mobile app. When we say "you" or "your", we are referring to you, the person using our Services.

When you use our Services, now or in the future, you are agreeing to the latest Terms. We may update these Terms in the future. Whenever we make a significant change, we will refresh the date at the top of this page. There may be times where we do not exercise or enforce a right or provision of the Terms; however, that does not mean we are waiving that right or provision. These Terms do contain a limitation of our liability.

Use of Services

Plateau Weather is a free weather information service. You may use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse our Services or help anyone else do so. For example, you must not attempt to access our Services by any means other than through the interfaces we provide, or attempt to disrupt the availability of our Services.

Weather information disclaimer

Weather forecasts and information provided through Plateau Weather are for general informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, weather conditions can change rapidly and forecasts are inherently uncertain.

Do not rely solely on this service for safety-critical decisions. Always consult official sources such as the National Weather Service for watches, warnings, and advisories. Plateau Weather is not a substitute for official government weather warnings.

Uptime, security, and privacy

Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. We provide these Services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not offer a service-level agreement but do take uptime seriously.

We take measures to protect and secure any data through encryption. All data transmission from the public Internet is encrypted via SSL/TLS.

When you use our Services, you agree that Plateau Weather may process data as described in our Privacy Policy and for no other purpose.

Copyright and content ownership

Original forecasts, commentary, design, and content created by Plateau Weather are the property of Plateau Weather. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or visual design elements without express written permission.

National Weather Service data displayed on the site is in the public domain as a work of the U.S. federal government. University of Washington weather model data is used with appropriate attribution. Current weather conditions are provided by Open-Meteo, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

You may share links to our content freely, but may not reproduce or republish it without permission.

Features and bugs

We design our Services with care, but there is no such thing as a service that pleases everybody. We make no guarantees that our Services will meet your specific requirements or expectations. We also test our features extensively before shipping them, but as with any software, our Services inevitably have some bugs. We do not guarantee completely error-free Services.

Liability

You expressly understand and agree that Plateau Weather shall not be liable, in law or in equity, to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, lost profits, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or the inability to use the Services; (ii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iii) statements or conduct of any third party on the Services; (iv) any actions we take or fail to take as a result of communications you send to us; (v) human errors; (vi) any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Services; (vii) bugs, viruses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Services; (viii) any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of your use of any content; or (ix) any other matter relating to these Terms or the Services.

In other words: using our Services is at your own risk. This is especially important to understand with regard to weather information, which is inherently uncertain. We do our best to provide accurate and timely weather data, but we cannot guarantee it.

Changes and questions

We may update these Terms in the future. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
