Wednesday late-night update: that cell earlier this evening did put down some precip, though none of the lightning strikes were very close…the closest my weather station picked up was almost 20 miles away.
Good news: as of 11pm tonight, the Heat Advisory has expired!! We notched a few degrees warmer than yesterday (Tuesday), with temps in the mid-90s around the Plateau - I even see a few 100° readings around the greater Eastside!
As for tonight and tomorrow…chances for showers and thunderstorms remain. The computer guidance had a hard time picking up on tonight’s activity, so confidence is fairly low in how many showers will pop off, where they might pop off, and how strong they’ll be. Regardless, the chances should taper off by tomorrow night. Otherwise, partly-cloudy skies! What is more certain is the cooler temps tomorrow - as much as 10 to 15 degrees off today’s highs! Yes, low- to mid- 80s is still warm…but relatively speaking, it’s a cool-down from the past few days!
Air quality looks to stay roughly the same tomorrow…though just like passing clouds, there could be some temporary improvement or further degradation, it seems like we’ll stay towards the bottom end of “unhealthy for sensitive groups”. Improvement could come by the weekend though! However, it’s about the time of the year for my regular reminder that smoke impacts are even harder to predict than snow…so this is all highly subject to change.
