Happy Seafair Weekend, and the first weekend of August! Cooler weekend on tap, with a chance of some light showers…but shouldn’t put too much of a damper on outdoor plans.

Best chance of showers rolling through the area is from mid-morning til early afternoon Saturday - not expecting much more than a pavement-wetting amount. Cloudy morning should give way to at least a partly-sunny afternoon! Highs drop back down to the low- to mid-70s. Slightly better forecast for Sunday - less clouds in the morning, which could bump us up to the mid-70s! We’ll warm back up going into next week.

Good news / bad news on the wildfire front: this system will keep the air west of the Cascades clean from smoke…but there’s extreme fire danger in central and eastern Washington due to winds and dry conditions, especially Saturday afternoon and evening. If you’re traveling over there, or have family and friends east of the mountains, make sure to stay aware!
