Wednesday night update: One more day of the Heat Advisory and the Air Quality Alert!
Mainly upper-80s around the Plateau today - the smoke was pretty thick. We stayed in the red "Unhealthy" category the majority of the day, with a bump into the purple "Very Unhealthy" this evening. Looking at today's satellite view, you can easily pick out all the hills and valleys across the state... and air quality as of 9:30pm tonight is still in the "Unhealthy" category.
Improvement is coming though! Tomorrow (Thursday) shouldn't be as bad - in fact, we should see improvement in surface air quality overnight. The Air Quality Alert expires at 5pm tomorrow - it'll take a day or two for the winds to fully clear the air, but it appears we're past the worst of it. By this weekend, we should be back to crystal blue skies!
That means we'll get the heat tomorrow! Upper-80s is very likely, and 90ยบ is certainly a possibility. While the Heat Advisory expires at 10pm tomorrow night, Friday is shaping up to be another warm day, in the mid-80s again.
