Did you notice a bit of a change in the weather this afternoon? Cloudier and a bit muggier? After a decent stretch of good (if a bit hazy) summer weather, this weekend looks to turn a bit more active.
First off: there's a chance of lightning overnight tonight (Friday night), and throughout the day tomorrow (Saturday). Like previous storms in recent memory, it's more likely in other parts of the state - think southern Washington and the Olympic Peninsula - but there's still a chance we can get some in the Puget Sound area, and across the Plateau. We'll just have to see what the storms look like as they move towards us!
Next: a chance of rain along with those storms - our first in a few weeks! Though it's all dependent on how the storms move over the Plateau...if we don't get many, it could be as little as a few hundredths - enough to wet the grass and pavement, but not very beneficial. If a heavier storm rolls over us, we could end up with a tenth of an inch or so - slightly more helpful, but not a ton. Again, a wait and see type of situation!
Finally, and more certainly: it'll be cooler this weekend than it's been this week. Mid- to upper-70s both days. Hopefully this system can clear some of the smoke out of the air too!
